The XY-3 is a spindle-type hydraulic core drilling rig for shallow to medium-depth diamond
coring — geological investigation, exploration, foundation and grouting holes, and water
wells. It cores to 600 m at ⌀75 mm, or opens holes up to ⌀300 mm at shallower depth, mounted
on a self-propelled crawler undercarriage.
A gearbox, not a gamble. Drive comes through the MW525 heavy-truck
transmission — 10 forward and 2 reverse gears — so the spindle always turns at the right
speed for the formation: five low gears from 30 rpm for big-diameter work, five high gears
to 1 050 rpm for diamond coring. Mechanical spindle drive means big torque and a machine
your fitter can strip with ordinary tools.
Strong where it matters. The 96 mm spindle through-hole takes large
hexagonal drill rod, the spindle pulls 6 000 kg, and the winch lifts 3 000 kg on a single
line — proper rod-handling muscle for a rig this size.
Simple, proven, serviceable. A 42 kW YN27 diesel (electric-motor drive
available on request), duplex gear oil pump, and a control layout with all handles grouped
at the operator's station. Thousands of XY-series rigs work across Africa — parts and
